Waterjet Cutting technology has been classed as a GREEN TECHNOLOGY.
VANCOUVER ISLAND WATERJET moved to a purpose built new location at Yellow Point and has taken this green technology to another level :
* utilizes a rain water harvesting system
* recycles the rain water
* recycle 100% of the used garnet

We are the only waterjet in the entire world to utilize rain water harvested from the roof of the building.

The uses of water. The process of waterjet cutting by its nature uses high pressure water not the quantity of water. It's the power of that water to slice through virtually any material.

Unlike traditional mechanical cutting systems, waterjet cutting technology doesn't require cooling or lubricating oils which means there are no chemically contaminated chips to dispose of.

Unlike thermal processes such as plasma or laser, waterjet technology doesn't generate noxious fumes during the cutting process.

The garnet abrasive is inert and non-toxic, also that the fact very little material is actually removed in the cutting process very little waste is generated. This keeps the environmental impact relatively low.

These are reasons Waterjet Cutting technology is classed as a green technology.
